Always use a tightening fixture to tighten the collet adapter nut. Using a vice in place of place of a tightening fixture can damage the indexing grooves and make it tough to get the adapter to seat. The adapters that we manufacture use a CAT30/BT30 taper and there a lot of 30 taper tool fixtures on the market. They are also available from our distributors.
